- Scoping memo: the Trust Services Criteria in scope (Security plus up to two more) and the systems they cover
- Policies written for how your company actually works, loaded and assigned in your platform
- Controls mapped, owners assigned and failing tests worked through with your team
- Evidence collected for the controls the platform cannot check on its own
- A readiness review that lists what is left, before you book the auditor
- Timeline
- Typically 4 to 6 weeks. Not guaranteed: it depends on your team's availability and how much already exists.
- You provide
- A named owner with authority to decide and sign
- Admin access to your Drata or Vanta account
- Engineer time for integrations and the fixes that only your team can make in your product and cloud
- Management sign-off on the policies and scope
- Price
- $7,500. Fixed price. Scope and platform fit are agreed in the proposal before work starts. Prices exclude VAT and other taxes.
What is not included
Not included: the SOC 2 audit itself (a licensed CPA firm performs it and issues the report), platform licences, penetration testing, legal advice, and engineering changes to your product.
No report guarantee: your CPA firm decides what the report says.
We are not a CPA firm and never issue SOC 2 reports. You contract your auditor directly, never through us.
Who does the work

Questions
- Do you do the SOC 2 audit?
- No. Only a licensed CPA firm can perform a SOC 2 examination and issue the report. We get you ready for it, and you choose and contract the auditor.
- Type I or Type II?
- We prepare you for either. A Type II examination then covers your controls operating over a period agreed with your CPA firm, commonly 3 to 12 months.
- Which compliance platforms do you work on?
- Most compliance platforms, including Drata and Vanta. We check that yours fits when we write the proposal. We need an account with enough access to edit controls, policies and evidence.
- Remote or on-site?
- Remote by default, in English. On-site days are possible when we agree them in the proposal.
- What currency do you invoice in?
- US dollars. Better ISMS EURL, a French company, invoices you. Prices exclude VAT and other taxes, and payment terms are set in the proposal.
- How is this related to ISMS Copilot?
- Better ISMS makes ISMS Copilot, the AI assistant for ISO 27001 and GRC work. We use our own tools to do the drafting and checking faster; a person decides and signs off. You do not need an ISMS Copilot plan to hire us.
